You should be proud of what you are doing. Even if you dont do a great job, You should try your best and you should still believe that you are doing it to the best of your ability and no one can do it better. But the way you talk, you seem to be a big loser and one of those, who feel lucky to have got your H1B. Probably, USA wont lose anything when one some like you leave. But Dont talk for the folks here. If you think you are below average, thanks for accepting it. Anyway, we would have known that from your shameless post. Most of us here deserve it and are special and are destined for greater achievements.

AILF is ready to take the cause up, then why not ? Fragmon & Rajiv Khanna are just two opinions. I think the Congresswoman who spoke out on this issue used to be an immigration lawyer prior to taking up public office & she mentions in her letters to DHS that this may be a potential violation of the law.

Some should be feeling really guilty for using IV and not contributing till now. Come out the stingy attitude and help.

In the past week, the "Protest Blooms" campaign notched up the following wins:
Times of India article
Buzz in the blogosphere
Attention from many attorney websites and blogs
Had a Washington Post journalist show interest in our issue and had tens of our members talk to her - which should result in a good article. How many times have we seen so many regular members of IV being able to speak to a reporter of a mainstream US publication on our issues?
Had a senior Reuters editor talk to many of us and he promised a sustained coverage of our issues
Had a senior reporter from New York Times talk to me
Had the footage of this entire event shown on CNN in India
Had many small media outlets which never cover these kind of issues, cover it (in smaller towns in MN and NY)
Created a sense of action in the community which was feeling pretty dejected after the USCIS fiasco
Had USCIS director react to us
Had so much interest generated that the IV website was brought down J
Brought a great deal of attention to IV (see previous point)And all this was accomplished with a severe time crunch. The grassroots effort involved in this campaign was unbelievable - thanks to everyone who kept the faith.
Was the point of this campaign to have our flowers be decorated on the desk of the director of USCIS? I don't think so. The word again was "symbolic" and that purpose is served whether the flowers are in boxes or in full view of the world.
Would it have made for better visuals if the flowers were in full view? Sure. Is there a way to improve upon every campaign? Sure.
Let us learn from what went right and what went wrong and use this to better execute all future events.

when american's from such third rate schools are not getting jobs, do you seriously think foreigners with their funny accents and relatively poor English communication skills (I'm Indian and can tell you its still a second language to me) can get jobs??
The market has a way of regulating itself. As someone mentioned above, there were a a lot of H1 space available from 2001-03. But it never got filled because there were simply not enough jobs. Lets not try to set up govenment intervention here....let the free market decide....that is what made this country great.
btw, NumbersuSA, FAIR and other restrictionist organizations have zero credibility because they oppose even legal immigration.

I am still waiting?
I called USCIS today morning, response was by end of this (oct)month they will complete all data entry for I-485. He told that last week they did lot of entries for July 2 and we should see the receipt number any time soon.

Section 202 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) states that the per-country limit for preference immigrants is set at 7% of the total annual employment-based preference limits. This means a country with large population like India and a tiny country like Lichtenstein get same number of visa numbers. This system is designed to systematically discriminate people from India and China by preventing them from attaining employment visas. More research needs to be done whether this constitutes a violation of US Equal Employment Opportunity Law. We need to find out whether this constitutes discrimination by national origin. Wouldn't count on that too much. Check how many people came in on H-1B just prior to those years. Then look at the annual per-country quota.

even single case is is pending(due to name check delays and and it has been cleared recently), they have to regtrogate to cover that case...
For EB2, retrogression is artificial, it doesnot reflect actual numbers.
March/April 2008 - will show up more realistic numbers..

I dont have access to the certified labor copy , I am just wondering if we need it for AC21 purposes. I am not sure how to get it from my desi employer/ desi lawyer. I have a job offer with a fortune 200 company which is willing to do H1b transfer/extension so I am opting for H1b instead of EAD. I am pretty sure about the job description will satisfy the same/similar test.
Is the job title and job description mentioned on the labor cert? Mine is a pre perm case. Is it good to have copy of labor cert for AC21?
I-485 filing package should include a Letter of Reconfirmation of job-offer from your sponsor. This letter should describe what was in the LC. If you get a copy of this letter, you know what you need from your new employer. I-485 is your filing, therefore, you should not have difficulty in getting a copy of full set of what was filed.

Well, my old carcass is getting too aged to handle that anymore. So now I ease off the sauce and go to the gym.
But I do also try to notice and enjoy the silliness of the every day human condition. (Still to this day, I'm not sure why I mow my lawn, for instance.) A sense of humour is very important. Recognition that there are others less fortunate. And stay connected with friends socially.
And also recognize that fact that a green card won't make me magically happier beyond the immediate jubilation. Yes it is good to regain the rights we lost coming to the US. To speeches I'll still smile, nod, even clap and think "what a bunch of nonsense!" for privacy is the true freedom that you still have. But I'll still work for a living. I'll still put on a dress shirt to impress clients I'll never see. I'll still try to spend more time creating than managing. Not simply because my h1b legally requires me to do so, but because managing is intellectually trivial. Or one could say that managing is the work of man, creation is the work of the gods. ; )
