I have convinced a few people at work to do this. Their point is, if we really want to do this, let's do it in a way that works. After receiving a few deliveries, USCIS will get the idea and direct it's lobby security to refuse all further flower deliveries. What's our plan for that situation?
How did the people who delivered nuts to CBS make it happen? The delivery was actually done via UPS. It's difficult to refuse a UPS packet in the security lobby! Should we send chocolates via UPS instead? It will be much more difficult to refuse deliveries of chocolates.
Does it matter if the flowers make it inside the building? What matters is that the media knows about us sending those flowers! The florists will tell them how many flowers they delivered! Besides, if we have a 100 people sending flowers they would have a tough time refusing all of them!
My hope is that 100 becomes a 1000!

I am not interested to pursue this, nor do I have the ability to lead this effort. Plus I am very happy with the effort and the work IV is doing. Which is not for a specific category but a more general appeal. I support that.
But for those who are interested - EB3 (India and ROW). The way USCIS is interpreting the law of spillover, can be easily challenged, because this goes against the spirit of the law. If EB2 and EB1 were to be given special preference at the I485 stage, then clearly they would have been allotted a larger quota to start with. should be a strong enough case for a Class Action Law Suit. Looking at the times that some people have been waiting and are expected to wait this is clearly an option to try out. IV or without IV. :)

At least Bush Administration was sympathetic to our cause. Everyone knows that this is a congressional fix but alteast Bush never came up with those anti-H1b policies to destabilize people in GC queue. Did anyone see Byron Dorgan's (Democratic Senator from North Dakota)interview on Stephen Colbert last night? This guy just wrote an anit-outsourcing book (http://www.amazon.com/Take-This-Job-Ship-Brain-Dead/dp/031235522X --no I am not plugging his book!) and he is full of 'they stole our jobs' rhetoric. This is typical outsourcing/globalization-bashing democratic mentality and it's disturbing to seeit still persists 2 years after Presedential elections.
Am I the only one who thinks that if Democratics takes over the House, we are screwed?

If Democrats win the House (which they most probably will - maybe with a small majority): Would then there be a Compromise on the CIR which the Republicans didnt even want to talk about ?
Someone in this thread pointed out that in the lame duck session is held with the current members, that would mean we wouldnt have a compromise in the lame duck session.
Then the new Congress would come in and the Bills would have to be passed in the Senate all over again, right? ( Just asking as I dont know the whole process).
