We should hire a lobbyst who can sell the idea to Sen. Specter and others pro amnesty lawmakers that they should hold on with the illegal alien case and work on the legal issue right now. I've seen this before where Sen. Specter claims that he could come up with a compromise, and yet he always show up with a redefinition of the word 'amnesty', what doesn't go far.

Also, this bill (as per my understanding) does not have to do anything with the illegal aliens and so should not rankle anyone. Also since Cornyn is the author, other conservatives (hopefully) will not have many issues with it and not many will argue about a bill that has to do with American Competitiveness.

You are wrong. How are the pay stubs link to your future GC job. Employment Letter is listed right there on I-485 form as initial evidence.
Do NOT confuse Current Employment Letter with Employment Letter for GC job

Hi SKK, it is not really required to have finger printed to get teh EAD approval. (i am talking aboutthe first time EAD). Your FP may come later on. At least in my case it was like that. I got my EAD approval first and later on only the FP came. Hope this helps ...

It is customary to put one year expiration for I-94 for AP entry. It does not mean much.

Thanks for the update. Let me share my concern with the CIR. Do you think that someone (lawmakers) is going to officially vote for the CIR to die? I don't believe so. Discussions, debates, political bickering and fingerpointing can drag on for months and even years because no one is officially willing to kill it for obvious political reasons. How long do you think we (IV) can wait until we start pushing for other bills?

I think your idea is good. But this could be very difficult to implement, at least for USCIS.
Another suggestion is that porting should be automatic. As soon as a person acquires the required qualification for EB2 + a letter from the company that the person's future job will be of EB2 caliber, UCSIS should put him/her in EB2 category. This is some thing we should work on.
Have you contacted anyone about your ideas? Allowing everyone to port from EB3 to EB2 will solve a lot of problems that America faces today. Except Global warming of course.:D

Hi - I currently have my H1B(H4 for my wife) valid till Mar 2011 and EAD expires on 10/15/08.
Can I skip the renewal process for now and apply for EAD later?
My lawyer says it is OK to skip for now and apply for EAD/AP anytime as long as I-485 is pending.
Please advise.

This issue cannot be solved through Lawsuit. What are the other alternatives?
What are reasons .. as to why it cant be solved by lawsuit ?? Are u afraid that they might stop processing any I-485 applications for EB2-I until the lawsuit gets resolved ??

It might not be the case. My i-140 is pending at NSC, but still the I-485 case was sent to TSC.
I and my wife received transfer notice to TSC yesterday. This may be because of my pending I-140 at TSC.
