Guys and gals when you email people and talk to people of the media etc please stress "LEGAL IMMIGRATION". I've been reading a few messages of late that open with "immigration" but only start talking about legal immigration a few paragraphs later. Please stress "LEGAL" everytime you mention the word "immigration". Thanks.

Isn't that they have completed input and receipt issuance for cases received by certain date (late Aug.?) according to their update? How come so many July filers still have not received receipts? Weird!
No, it seems as per the latest USCIS update (on Sept 7, 2007) the NSC has completed issuing receipt notices till July 28, 2007, and TSC till July 2, 2007.
Do you have any other updates?

I currently have a job offer from the client .
My previous company has applied in perm as Software engineer , Applications as Job Title and Job Description is PeoplesoftSoft, Peopletools ,SQR
My client would like to hire me as Peoplesoft Developer. but I am expecting a raise in salary of atleast 30%.
Would this be a problem ?
When you say Job description should be more or less same what exactly does that mean. Should it be exactly different or some minor change is ok ?
Help me out as I have to decide on the offer by weekend.

How can contributing $1000.00 to immigration voice solves this problem? You are telling like a swami's in India, give me money I will do some pooja on your behalf and all your problems will be solved.
The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years. And procrastinating their American Dream because of the limitations they have during the GC process.
Active participation or contribution of 10 or 20 or 100 people wont be any effective unless and untill we all do it collectively.

i dont think we are going to solve anything by fighting among ourselves here... we have to take the fight up with USCIS and not among ourselves... the plight of EB-3 at this point is far far worse than EB-2... atleast we are current.. they are not even that.... we have to somehow include all fractions into what we do at this point....

I am in a similar position but working on 3 months contract through a consulting company on w2. It is similar to my 485 job details, but it is a short term project.
Would I get an RFE if I work on contract on W2?
In my personal opinion, you should look out for permanent offers. I tend to prefer 1099 contracts as opposed to W-2 because 1099s tend to make stronger case for self employment.

probably Texas, that is where my I-140 was approved.
Cancelled 4 tickets and lost 1000 bucks. Was to fly on 6th. Never expected dates will move. MY PD Nov 2001 EB3 India.
Hoping to get receipts by 20th. Is that a fair assumption? Planning to re-book for 22nd.
Don't want to lose another dime on cancellations and re-bookings.
Advice and share your thoughts.

EAD Receipt # is different from i485 Receipt #. What i know though is that i485 receipting is a pre-requisite of EAD receipting.

My 485 application was received by TSC on July 16th. Intrestingly there are threads that are tracking applicaitons from July 2nd to July 13th and July 17 to Aug 17th? What is wrong with 16th? Are there are one with the same receipt date here?

I think more than anything we need organization. We need group of volunteers that focused on different tasks. for example a group of people call congress and follow up and post updates.
group of people lead the flower campaign and anther group wrk on informing the media
there should be a group organize the rally and contact people to sponser.
Again avoid the 21 of july because the media would cover HP book instead of the protest.

1) 3 people were making hunger strike at SJSU over the last weekend for DREAM act and we come to know about it thru 1510 AM, KLIVE in Bay Area.
2) Immigration Voice members are planning to make a rally in SJ and we need to read it in the forum of (only) their website.
3) We are hungry about media coverage and want utmost attention of the congressmen about our issues.
BUT, you know what we are missing?:
1) No postings on the windows of those Bharat Bajars and Cash N Carrys and Kumuds. Can't the i-phone designers and router gurus make Ashas and Abhijeets invisible with some eye catching posters?
2) No postings on those other popular websites like murthy.com, immigration-law.com, bata.org etc. Did they say no for this?
3) No usage of the library notice boards.
4) No usage of SMS. Isn't it much cheaper than making contributions to the IV repeatedly?
I hope to see all these channels being utilized fully for July 14/21 march in Bay Area before we talk about CNNs and WPs.
Once the streets of SJ are hit with 1000+ people, those NBCs and CNNs and SJMs will come to us rather than we going to them.
As for myself, I am in whenever the event takes place and will try to bring at least 5 of my friends to the march.
P.S.: This is not an effort to criticize anyone here but just an attempt to help the organizers in whatever way I can.

First of all, its not between me and employer for that matter. USCIS is delaying the process with no logical reason ( am i repeating myself from my first post - hopefully you read again and properly this time Mr.confused ).
All we want is to have them follow a pattern. Wait what am i doing here, you are confused, doesnt matter what i write here. Let me know when you are normal ( after all the hormones are in order, if at all that happens ), we can talk.

This in fact will help us prepare our case even more stronger against USCIS. It is best we ourselves find all the gaps we might have while we proceed with this case instead of them coming onto the issue.
I would suggest everyone who ofcourse is in favor or in doubt to bring forward the issues they think we need to cover while we move on with this.

It makes a lot of difference if core members who have a closer perspective of the truth could respond to some questions on these threads.
